Elements of the In-Store Display Contest

The In-Store Display Contest is a targeted, merchandising event program and display contest that generates off-shelf displays and moves incremental cases for you and your retail customers.

The centerpiece of the program is an eye-catching, four-color In-Store Display Contest advertisement with attached entry card. The four-color ad and entry card runs twice in Progressive Grocer to guarantee optimum participation. Custom designed to communicate the excitement and selling potentials of your promotion, your In-Store Display Contest ad will target chain and wholesale headquarters decision-makers and store-level management...and activate creative in-store merchandising support. This complete turnkey program is created by our Custom Solutions Department. The Display Contest awards prizes for the best displays that lure and bolster retailer response. Prizes offered have included European trips, Caribbean cruises, audio/video equipment and cash. Progressive Grocer's Custom Solutions Department assumes all responsibility for the judging process, winner's notification mailing, and awarding of cash prizes. Before winners are announced, all entries are submitted to the sponsor for final approval of judging decisions. Cross channel opportunities are also available.

BACKUP SUPPORT FOR CONTEST

  • Follow-Up Reminder Ad: The one-page piece runs as a follow-up reminder ad with attached entry card to the full circulation of Progressive Grocer preceding the month of the contest's entry deadline.
  • Winners Announcement Ad: A four-color, single-page ad, announcing the display contest winners and including one color photograph, is run to the full circulation of Progressive Grocer following the month of contest winner notification.
  • 2,500 In-Store Display Contest Reprints and Entry Cards per Channel. Sponsors receive 2,500 reprints of the In-Store Display Contest ad and 2,500 contest entry cards for use by their sales/broker force.
  • Entry Updates: Our Custom Solutions Staff will assist in delivering periodic reports to the sponsor on the number of entries received from each sales regional/zone for each channel.
  • Mailing to 2,000 Former and New Contest Entrants per channel: Our Custom Solutions Staff will mail an explanatory letter, describing the promotion, together with a copy of the four-page ad and an entry card, to a combination of 2,000 former and new contest entrants in stores with all commodity volume (ACV) levels of $8 million-plus.
  • Web Site Posting: The complete In-Store Display Contest will be featured on www.progressivegrocer.com for the length of the promotion period. An e-mail option to request an entry form will be made available to retail visitors.
